Having Trouble with Recording Lag in Action! – Any Suggestions?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently having some issues when using Action! to record gameplay. While the video quality looks good, I sometimes experience lag and FPS drops during recording, especially in more demanding games.

I’ve already tried lowering the resolution and bitrate, but the performance doesn’t improve much. I’m not sure if it’s related to my settings or hardware limitations.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue? If so, what settings or solutions worked for you? Any advice would be really helpful.

Yeah, I had similar issues before. One thing that helped a lot was making sure Action! was using hardware encoding (NVENC/AMD/Intel depending on your GPU) instead of CPU encoding. Also try recording to an SSD if you aren’t already, because slower drives can cause stuttering even if the game itself runs fine.

Another thing worth checking is whether you’re recording at the same FPS as your monitor/game. For example, trying to record 120+ FPS gameplay can hit performance pretty hard in demanding games. Locking recordings to 60 FPS usually makes things much smoother.
