Recording with Intel Quick Sync Video crashes games

Just an update, I have tried installing various codecs etc as suggested by google search (x264 codec, quicktime) but none solved this problem.

After more research I have found a solution, it appears to be a problem with Sony Vegas 12 (most likely 10 or higher).

So if you are having problems loading mp4 files into Sony Vegas and the video does not show up, simply do this:

1) Go to where Sony Vegas is installed and go to \App\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\compoundplug\..
2) Rename compoundplug.dll to compoundplug.dll.old or simply remove it.
