Because I doubted anyone will see it there (not even sure how did I stumbled there), I tried pointing out to it in a 2-3 threads (on this forum) which popped up when I googled about my problem, hoping people would find solution easier, but my posts needed to be approved by moderator, which never happened for some reason.

Anyway, hopefully this one gets approved. Here is the solution that worked for me:

"After more research I have found a solution, it appears to be a problem with Sony Vegas 12 (most likely 10 or higher).

So if you are having problems loading mp4 files into Sony Vegas and the video does not show up, simply do this:

1) Go to where Sony Vegas is installed and go to \App\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\compoundplug\..
2) Rename compoundplug.dll to compoundplug.dll.old or simply remove it."

Hi Wygn,

Its a very old issue in Vegas, no Action MP4 problem. In Vegas 10 I used this tip enough, but thought it had already solved it. :D

Work flawless Radi. MP4 is now compatible com any linear video editor tested for me.

The only downside is FICV AVI files not compatible with FFMPEG engine.

Tip: To get better quality make a personal profile using highest settings. After this u can encode using RIPBOT264 to small video size.

Note: The only downside...No 16:10 AR suport, only 16:9 or 4:3.
