[RESOLVED]Action! 1.8 Audio Issue with Sony Vegas

Hi Mirillis team.

With Action! 1.6 I was able to load AVI file into Vegas 10. After updating to 1.8 Vegas 10 doesn't recognize audio track in AVI file. It says: Stream attributes could not be determined.

Please, fix it.

Otherwise Action! getting better and better.

Dahnark,

I found work around until Mirillis fixes the issue with audio track in AVI file.
I load captured AVI file into XviD4PSP 5, set video to copy, and audio to PCM re-encoding. This way I get new AVI file with original captured video quality and proper audio track and can load it into Vegas for editing.

Hi MozartMan!

Are you recording audio in multichannel mode (5.1 etc.). Unfortunately Vegas does not properly handle WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE audio signalled tracks in AVI :( I think it was working in the past as Action! did not use WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE for multichannel audio tracks... but this was not working in WMP and Windows Live! Movie Maker :( Please try to disable the "Allow multi-channel audio recording" option in Action!'s Video Recording panel. This should solve the problem with Vegas... but will only give stereo audio.

Thanks Watchman.

Yes, it was set to record multichannel audio under video settings. I unchecked that and Vegas recognized stereo audio track in AVI file. But as I said in my previous post I found work around for multichannel audio track. XviD4PSP 5 to the rescue!

I have another solution that i wood say it's much more simplier ! WITH MULTICHANNEL OPTION ENABLED !

I've made a .gif for that but i have that Option in context menu that u see and honestly speaking im not sure what program added that in my context menu, all i know is that it works.I've searched thru my installed app, couldnt find something relevant ...I think is from some codec,or something,i realy dont know

Well, I just updated my workaround. I load AVI file into XviD4PSP 5 and set both video and audio streams to "COPY" to create (remux) to new AVI file without re-encoding at all. And it loads in Vegas.

I have found of what i was talking about ! It's about Dxtory ! I dont want to make advertising about Dxtory but when u install Dxtory,in the install folder u will find '' AudioStreamSplitter.exe '' and that litle tool ads in the context menu the '' Extract Audio Stream '' option.Dxtory it is a good tool for recording games but honestly speaking,Action it's just much better !
