Steam overlay doesn't work in some games

Hi,
I''ve figured that steam overlay doesn't work in Borderlands 2 and Black Mesa if Action! were started before.
If I close Action! steam overlay appears.
Could you please fix this issue in future release? Thanks.
I use Action 1.10.0.

We are aware of the steam overlay issue. We are working on it.

Almost 6 months and still NOT fixed... Very annoing issue for me.
"Exclude" function is not a solution because it is impossible to use Action! to capture video in this case.
dxtory, fraps and MSI AB overlay works ok with steam overlay.
Please rewrite overlay so it will be compatible with steam....

Since we were not able to reproduce this issue in our lab yet we can't fix it atm. We are still investigating this issue. As soon as we track the cause of this we will fix it.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch action! before steam.
2. Start steam.
3. Launch Team Fortress 2 or Half-Life 2 or X-Com Enemy Unknown and check that steam overlay doesn't work by pressing Shift+Tab.
4. Exit from game.
5. Exit from action!
6. Launch the same game as on step 3 and verify that steam overlay is working.
100% reproducible with any version of action! including last.
I can record video for you if you won't able to reproduce this issue.

It's not the steps that we cannot reproduce, it's the different specifications. This issue does not occur with everyone, but we will follow your steps and see if this a new trail.
Please provide the video, we can provide a ftp server for larger files.

I always Alt/tab out of the dx9/dx10 games when the intro runs and than click Action and go back to the game. I don't have problems with DX11 games.

I had the same problem and suddenly it started to working fine...
I was doing some maintenance with my codecs and I uninstalled K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and installed K-Lite Codec Pack (32 and 64bit) and x264vfw (32 and 64) and suddenly I noticed that steam overlay started to work.
Can someone else who has the same steam overlay issue says if he has the Mega codec pack installed?
