Feature Requests for Action!

Mon Nov 26, 2012 11:38 am

Hi! Thanks for a great program. I'm using it for most stuff now and got several friends to switch to Action too.

I do have some feature requests for future releases:

Facecam: It would be really great if it were possible to record our webcams directly into the games. This feature exists in Xsplit and liteCam but both those programs really suck.

Overlay size: When recording games in a small resolution the overlay image tend to get really big. It would be great if Action! could set the overlay to be X % of the actual videosize.

Recorded time: When capturing a game it is not always that easy to know how long the recordings are. I tend to look at the clock but often forgets as I'm playing a game. Could recorded time be implemented to the ingame Hud?

Better Minecraft support: Well... Yeah... Hehe! I admit, I kinda play that game too. It often freezes and FC's when using Action! to record. Would be great if there'd be a better support for capturing Minecraft.

That's all! Thanks again! :)

This feature is planned.

I'll ask our devs if this is possible.

Our mobile app will contain more useful information such as time and free disk space. I think this will resolve all the HUD issues.

Well, the main problem of Minecraft problems is ... Minecraft. For some users Action! works perfectly when recording Minecraft, for some other, not. Sadly we were not able to reproduce reported issues in our labs.

Hello to all,

I'm using Action! for a long time and it's great software. Let's go to the main thing.

I have some little things that must be added in the next versions of Action:
- Recording to MP4 for older CPU's (CPU's that doesn't have Intel Quick Sync Video technology)
- Higher lever of recording video quality (example: Video Quality - Low, Normal, High)

High definition recording for older CPU's without Intel Quick Sync is not possible. You can use software encoding (480p) instead.

As I know, in the older versions of Action!, it was enable to record directly to MP4 (Full HD), even with older cpu's.
If there is no Intel Quick Sync, you can use CUDA I think :?:

Not really. Recording to MP4 higher than 480p always required a processor with Intel Quick Sync Video technology. As for the CUDA, nVidia is currently not providing similar technology to Intel which makes it unable to use it with real time video encoding.

Oh, just remembered:

Could you also, when you make the Facecam-feature, add a support for chroma-keys? There is one in Xsplit so I know it's possible. It would be cool to be able to remove backgrounds around us and actually put is in the games.

Still, focus on the facecam-feature first, that's the most important one.

Thanks again! :)

I'm sure at first we will add a simple facecam feature. Later we can think about improving this.
