Dxtory direct output to just about any streaming program (FFsplit,Xsplit broacaster, or OBS) is actually better quality and less of a performance hit than Action! The latest release of Action! broke AMD APP with crossfire which led me to start testing other apps. The results surprised me, not sure if I am going to go back to Action! now even if they fix it. Maybe if Action! starts adding some other streaming functionality like chroma keying, camera support, more overlays etc.. it will justify the monthly price to stream, but as of right now the value isn't there when other programs have way more features.

here is a run down of every popular streaming option, all streams were done at 720p/30 fps from 1440p ultra BF4 gameplay footage on test island. NOTE-You can look in the right hand corner to see the framerate. in addition, where it was possible to adjust, the bitrate was set for 3000

X-Split with Gamecaster is complete and utter garbage,

X-Split with Broadcaster is really, really great but crossfire will not work.

Raptr is ok, but once again crossfire is broken

Raptr with MANTLE and Crossfire is well yeah it's broke really bad

OBS the VCE build will not work with crossfire in BF4. Other than that it is really good.

Playclaw with AMD VCE will work in crossfire but it gives a performance hit.

Action! VERSION 1.20.2 is great to use but crossfire has been broken in this latest version

Action! version 1.17.3.0 works phenomenal with almost zero performance hit and CROSSFIRE WORKS!

DXtory direct show output to X-Split Broadcaster- It works very awesome indeed. Crossfire works, performance hit is next to nothing and quality is good.

OBS+DXtory very awesome results as well, crossfire works.

FFSplit + Dxtory same as the last two really good and crossfire works

So really the only three choices that work with crossfire are:

1.) Action 1.17.3.0 using AMD APP
2.) Dxtory with direct show output to some other program (OBS,FFsplit, or X-Split broadcaster)
3.) Playclaw version 5 using AMD VCE, but it has the worst performance of the three.

Action! records videos in its own format called FIC. This is highly optimized codec for games and desktop recordings.

This is extremely useful to know, thanks for giving time to their studies and sharing the results.
