No mic recorded

Wed Jan 02, 2013 12:56 pm

Hello!
I can't seem to get my voice recorded in my videos. Been playing around with the settings for a long time but nothing seems to fix my problem. I have an external soundcard that I have selected and deselected (system default), but nothing works. If I go into DxTory everything works without a problem.

Can you help me?

I'm going to hazard a guess you're trying to record from line-in? I posted a similar problem here just over a month ago, and still haven't been able to find a way around it. The only thing I can do is to record from a standard mic input, and not line-in.

What's the sound card you're using? All the more information we have, the better.

Thank you sir!
Plugging a "normal" pc mic directly in the mic input made me able to record voice.

And yes! I am trying to use a line-in on my Audio Kontrol 1 external sound card.
(didn't realize there was a difference between line-in and mic-in)

It's a shame though, cause I really want to use the better quality condenser mic I already own.

Would be nice to get a response from and admin or developer on this matter. If not, I think I'll try to ask for a refund..

Yeah, it really would. I can capture my condenser mic just fine by using a mic port rather than line-in, but that means I have to reduce the levels on my mixer to keep it from clipping at the quietest whisper.

And really, as for the difference between mic and line-in, there shouldn't be one to the point where a piece of software can capture from the mic port, but fails at line-in. It's just an awful shame that it doesn't work, because being able to have Action! record the mic into a separate audio stream was one of main selling points for me, since I usually record my mic separately in Audacity. It would save me the effort of syncing it all up to the video.

If it wasn't for the capturing performance Mirillis offers along with the desktop region capture, I'd be dumping it and asking for a refund, too.

Here here.

I could try changing the audio devices to my sound card (audio kontrol 1), but it doesn't really make a difference. My system default is normally Audio Kontrol 1. It records output in both situations, but never the input when using a "line-in".
