Not working with Skyrim

Sun Nov 20, 2011 7:55 am

Hello.

I just downloaded the trial version but it doesn't seem to work with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
I go into the game but the recording thing doesn't show up.
It shows up for other games though. Wonder what's up with Skyrim.

Hi, there are users on this forum that recorded Skyrim successfully.

Can you please check the following:
- run Skyrim game (without Action! running)
- go back to desktop (Alt-tab should work) and run Action! making sure that games & applications mode is selected
- go back to Skyrim with alt-tab and check if Action! HUD is visible

Yeah, it's not working for me either.

EDIT: I've tried the following.

Video Recording = Doesn't work in Games and Applications mode.
Screenshot = Works.
Audio Recording = Works.
Benchmarking = The .csv file gets created but just shows multiple lines of 0,0.
HUD = Doesn't show, even when changing the hotkeys.

It works for me in Skyrim - sort of. FPS is shown correctly but as soon as I start recording the game crashes to dekstop with no error message (I remapped F9 key just to be safe because Skyrim uses it for quickload). I'm currently using trial version of Action! and I like it but it definitely needs some polishing ;)

We are investigating problem.
Can you please show on screenshots your Skyrim setup?
Do you experience problem with any other game or only with Skyrim?

Fuvio, what is your graphics card model?

Can you please try if you can record game with workaround to run game in windowed mode and
record it using desktop region. This should always work fine.
The fastest way is to:
- click region
- enable snap to windows by pressing "s"
- move mouse over game
- press "s" again to disable snap to windows
- press hotkey or button to start record

I tried Windowed mode and recorded with region mode in Action! .. it's recordable .. BUT there's a red line appearing on the right side ... the region box somehow got recorded in as well.

Also, Windowed mode kind of kills the immersion though =\

As for setting, I am using default Medium + blood on.

AMD Radeon 5970 (latest drivers installed).

I'll do some other testing tomorrow.

Can you please check NVIDIA control panel and check what is your preffered graphics processor?
Can you please also check if Action! will work with Skyrim on any of settings?

I have set my preferred graphics processor to: High-performance NVIDIA processor

And I just tried both Low and High settings - both don't work. The Action! HUD just won't show up in Skyrim =(

EDIT: Hi. I got another game that it doesn't work for. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_of ... ingdoms_XI). Wonder if there's a link between these games ...

EDIT 2: I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit edition btw.

EDIT 3: Hi. I noticed that in the Task Manager, both action_x64.bin and action_x86.bin are active. Is that normal?
