I recorded 31 minutes of video using these settings:
1080p, 60 fps, QuickSync (using VirtuMVP)
the file is 4.7 GB but wont play in "Media Player Classic HomeCinema Eddition" (player that has ALL codecses needed)
BUT!... The movie DOES play in Mirillis Action Player

Hmm... try loading it in VirtualDub, and tell us if it loads entirely or not?

VirtualDub doesn't support mp4/h264 as source material

If the files is playing fine in Action! player then it's not corrupted. Maybe Media Player Classic does not support our codec (FICV). Have you tried exporting your file to MP4?

the file was recorded using QuickSync and is therefore H264:
i recorded 2 sessions of gaming after each other without changing anything !
this is the video information i pulled from VLC (which also plays the currupt file - bcoz its based on MPlayer)
video:
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1920x1080
Framerate: 60.001269
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV
audio
Codec: MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a)
Channels: 3F2R/LFE
Samplefrequens: 44100 Hz

and why do you believe that? from my experience, it's the worst player available. If WMP plays it and other players do, then it's not corrupted.

i have 30 recordings that work perfectly in Media Player Home Cinema AND in HandBrake... and only this file wont play / open in the respective programs.

The AVIs I capture with Action! are loadable into VirtualDub, that's the way *I* do it. I capture a whole night of rading in World of Warcraft, and once I get a boss kill, I just select the bit I wanna keep, and reencode it with meGUI. Try it.

The whole point of capturing with QuickSync is to reduce filesize and have files that are h264 / mp4 - ready to be stored, edited, uploaded or whatever..
If i wanted to grab video at 1 GB / minute i would use FRAPS, because its better quality than the one used by Mirillis Action (AVI) ... then use Handbrake afterwords to compress to x264 ...
the problem with this is that i experience more framerate drops and higher stress on the computer while playing..
when using QuickSync its completely invisible that im recording.. (almost) .. the iGPU take care of encoding and the output it "nicer"

I wouldn't know anything about Quick Sync, as I run with a "good" nVidia card, and cannot enable Quick Sync. Also, the recorded AVIs are 500MB to 700MB per min (not 1GB per min), and that's mainly because the uncompressed audio takes about one third of the whole size. All in all I don't find it that bad, except that I absolutely have reencode.
I only hope in future updates of Action!, they will permit us to capture in MP4 (the MP4 container, not the AVI container), with MP4 audio (AAC)...
