Multi-channel downmix

Hi,

I'm wondering if it is possible to add an option to capture 5.1 (or 7.1) audio channels and downmix them to stereo.

If I record a game in 5.1 and uncheck the "Allow multi-channel audio recording", it only records the front right and left audio channels, so everything else is lost.

So for now I have to record in 5.1 and then downmix with an AviSynth script, as I use scripts to encode my videos.

Thanks.

if you use Handbrake it allow you to downmix 5.1 to Dolby Pro Logic (stereo with surround) and 2.0 stereo if you rather want that.

There are multiple tools around the internet that allows you to specify the downmix Matrix of channel mixing.

Handbrake does not handle AviSynth scripts, I already tried it.
I use MeGUI and it's "Downmix to stereo" option always gives me 6 channels...

And I don't want to go through many processes, I want to directly encode the raw files (edited with scripts) to maximize quality.

I just wish there were an option to downmix, as in Fraps.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will add it to the feature wishlist.

It;s been 7 years since last post but still the software streams 5.1 surround sound gameplay directly without downmixing because the in-game voice speech is still missing. Did the dev forget about this? OBS automatically downmixes the multichannel sound in live stream but Action seems fail to do this. Switching the speaker mode to stereo fix this but it's not practical. Why do I have to sacrifice my experience just to make something work???
