same problem here with my asus ux32vd. I guess we need to wait for an update of Action that works along with the new possibilities given by the new intel ivy driversGamerGuy wrote:I was hoping this new Intel gfx driver would let me capture using Action & quick sync even when running my gaming laptop in dedicated gfx mode, but apparently not. Action still doesn't give me the quick sync option.
Anyone who knows how to get Action + quick sync to work on an Alienware laptop in dedicated gfx mode please post the answer, thanks.
I think the app need to be updated to support the new driver. Cause the possibility of using quick sync even when the discrete GPU is used is not supported by WIN7. It works only on win8 (i saw it on different websites have a look on google. I'm french and saw it on french websites so perhaps useless for you). So it doesn't work on win7. Perhaps the driver helped to have the mirillis workaround to work but to have the new possibilities offered by the new drivers, they may need to update actionRawi wrote:The only change I noticed after installing the new drivers is that the official workaround for using quick sync (the one without attaching new cable to iGPU) now works on Win8.
Previously it was working only for Win7.
But still I need to use 'extend displays' in order for quick sync to show in Action.
I'd be happy if I could get that to work, but when I do the detect displays step it still will only show the AMD 7970M as the extra display. The Intel option doesn't show up even with the new Intel driver. This is on Alienware M17xR4 using the F7 dedicated gfx mode.Rawi wrote:The only change I noticed after installing the new drivers is that the official workaround for using quick sync (the one without attaching new cable to iGPU) now works on Win8.

Do you have integrated graphics turned on in your BIOS?GamerGuy wrote:I'd be happy if I could get that to work, but when I do the detect displays step it still will only show the AMD 7970M as the extra display.
