Very weird sound problems with a game

Sat May 04, 2013 9:42 am

Hey! Its me again.

So I recently had problems with the screenshot capturing which is resolved by now. It works now. I have other problems...
I play with Neverwinter since launch and I had to put down ACTION and use another recording device, because with ACTION the sounds were off. Its hard to explain but some sound effects like my spells were very very quiet and sounded weird. But only for those sounds, others were ok. The funny thing is that when I was in the game, playing and recording, the sound was okay. Then I played the video I created and it was bad. Other capturing programs works without problem so I dont know what to do. Here is an http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMce7x_6tYE

Every other game works perfectly with ACTION except this.

Do you record to AVI or MP4?

Oh sorry...

Yes. Im using 720p avi 30fps. I use this settings to every game and so far this game is the only where the sound is bad. Also I usa wav as my audio output format if this matters.

Im getting closer to the solution now: I can record gameplay from this game with NEVERWINTER, and the sound is fixed now. However... the only thing that plays the videofile is the ACTION PLAYER. I cannot open with media player classic and neither with vlc media player. I get this error message. What codec I need? Or I dont know...

Action! uses it's own FICV codec. Some applications doesn't recognize our codec.

It's impossible for vlc to decode video since vlc doesn't support vfw/DS codecs.
As for mpc - it says that it has problem decoding audio (which is simply 6ch uncompressed), that's odd. Try updating to latest version.

I will try it but the big problem is that sony vegas does not recognise audio part. I will fully reinstall this program, maybe it undo the fukup I made.

I did a full system reinstall. Everything works now. You can delete this post.
