How to disable some of the default hotkeys?

Tue Jul 02, 2013 12:31 am

Just downloaded the trial version of Action! and it's looking really good so far!

One quick question though which I haven't been able to find an answer to looking through the documentation, how can I disable the hotkeys for Record Audio, Benchmarking and Capture Screenshots (F10, F11 and F12)?

I was able to clear all other hotkeys by simply removing the check next to them but doesn't seem to work for the above mentioned hotkeys?

Unfortunately main hotkeys (first four) cannot be disabled.

Wow...that's a bit weird :o

May I ask why and is this something you'll address in a future update?

Reason I ask is I'll be using Action! (or whatever software I end up choosing) to capture flights in MS Flight Simulator X which already uses pretty much all keyboard shotcuts you could possible think of and a combination of them so you don't really want to "waste" any hotkeys on features/software you don't use.

Just installed the latest update and noticed you still can't disable the first four shortcuts. I was kind of hoping you would have been able to fix this and I imagine it would be a fairly easy thing for you to do...simply letting users decide if they want these shortcuts active in the same way as with all other shortcuts...?

Would really appreciate if you could address this in next update.

At this moment this cannot be done due technical reasons.

Ok, too bad and must admit I'm a bit surprised since it appears as a quite simple thing but then I'm not a programmer so I wouldn't know.

I stumbled into the same problem, but found an easy solution.

you can map them to something like ctrl+alt+shift+\

then they won't interefere.

Return to “Action! Screen and Game Recorder”
