I have used Action on both my computers with the WAV audio setting to record video

when I use my desktop, I get good sound with bass; it is a full sound

If I record the exact stream on my laptop, the sound is thin; very little bass

I have the exact same settings on action on both computers; it records the audio as WAV 1536 48K

Does anyone know why the laptop recordings are thin with little bass? It should have been the same

Is the sound thin too on your laptop, when you just playback your exact stream?

Check your audio settings in control panel/systemtray (on your laptop), for any audio degradation.

Digging up some similar threads about HP Elitebook for you, I've found this you could maybe try do:

I think that your sound driver on your laptop is not working right properly, and you need to find a way "completely" uninstall and reinstall it.
Of course, you have to visit the HP download site and find the right and latest driver for your specific model.
Or if you not sure about this, I'll suggest contact HP support, they can probably help you with it.

If you say your sound and recordings are thin on your laptop, no matter what you do, the problem likely does not lay on Action! but your laptop.

well that is probably true about the audio card but when I play just audio files on my laptop they sound like I expect on a laptop; very little bass; this is true of all laptops. That sound is normal

but this should not prevent Action from recording good bass if I play a stream that has good bass

this is a very strange problem. I don't think HP will be able to do anything either because they will ask me if I am getting sound and if it sounds normal when playing files and I will say yes to that

at that point, they won't be able to do anything
