Action! Live Stream at 1080p?

Wed Aug 07, 2013 6:57 am

So, um.. why is there an artificial limitation preventing you from streaming at 1080p without a CPU that supports QuickSync? I can most definitely say my i5 can handle streaming most things at 1080p30.

So.. yeah. Why the artificial limitation?

Our developers allowed Action! users to record and stream their videos in 720p because most new computers can handle this video size. If the feedback for 720p will be positive our devs will consider adding 1080p for high end computers without Intel Quick Sync Technology.

Thanks for the information, but I just can't wrap my head around why the completely arbitrary limitation. I just don't expect software to presume to know what my hardware can manage.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to stick with OBS and Dxtory for live streaming until the limitation is removed.
