Key bindings and broken AVI files

Occasionally when using Mirillis Action, my game will crash when I press F9 to stop the recording. I'm aware that the crash is not directly caused by Mirillis Action, and that's not my complaint. The problem is that when this happens the resulting AVI file is still open by Action and Action is still showing the icons as if it were still recording. When I open the Action interface it shows red numbers in the directory pane that I assume are showing how long the current recording is.

At this point the recorded AVI file does not play in any player. I'm aware that Action is still attempting to record and that it still has the AVI file open, but I haven't been able to figure out how to make Action stop recording so it can close and finish the AVI file like it's supposed to.

I've looked through the forums but couldn't find anything to help me. I'm just looking for a way to rescue the recorded video so that I don't have to keep re-recording these clips.

Also, I'd like to lodge a complaint about not being able to map the video recording key to a normal keyboard key. I'd like to map the start/stop recording key to the '\' key since I can guarantee that is a key that I do not use in any video games, but Action won't allow me to map it. I think that I should be able to map the key to any key on my keyboard and not be restricted to certain keys.

Some keys are disabled. I will ask our devs why "/" is one of them.

Actually it's the \ key that I'm hoping to be able to use. It's literally the ONLY key that I know for a fact that I have NEVER used in any games.

Besides that fact, as the user shouldn't we have control over what keys we want to bind to. I don't see any reason why you should be disabling keys. If your worried about them causing bad interactions with other software or with the OS, that would be our problem wouldn't it?
