Action 1.7.4 Issues

I tried "Action!" a while back during 1.11.0 (I believe) and everything worked perfectly fine using the trial. I then just recently decided to really buy "Action!", but instead of having that quality and speed I had before. I am met with a rather frustrating experience. This consist of not being able to record for periods longer than five minutes along with choppy frame rate or just plain skipping in the video. Even though it says that my recording time is normal while im playing (looking at the HUD). Also when ever I turn the mic on (with button down) it doesn't seem to matter if I have the button down or not. It just continues leave the mic open. If someone could please help me I would be most grateful.
