1080p Recording stops exporting at 69%

Hi,
I recorded approximately a 20 minute long video (AVI 1080p) yesterday evening and am attempting to export it so I can edit it using a different software, however I find that the exporter gets stuck at 69% and then adds 1 second onto the time remaining counter for every one that goes by. Any advice on this issue would be much appreciated.
(Another side-question, how might I go about increasing the bitrate, currently at 0.676 MBps?)
