Recording with AMD APP ends after 1 minut and sounds skips

Hello.

I have noticed a problem with Action! when recording with MP4 AMD APP.

When I have a fresh install of Action!, I can record in length the first time I use AMD APP. After that first time, it says it records but in reality it stops after approximatly 1 minut. I have tried everything like reinstalling the AMD Graphic drivers, both beta and latest official release, and Action! itself. Nothing works.

Furthermore, those rare instances when I get the whole recording, the sounds skips. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYMpf_Z-Jrs

The option AMD APP is the only way to record when playing Battlefield 4 with accepteble frame rates.

Is there a fix or update on the way? Or is it something I can do?

Win7, FX-4350 4x4,3 GHz, Radeon R9 270x 2 GB, 8 GB RAM.

Check if the same issue occurs with AVI files and second case - without the system sounds.

No, AVI seems to work. When I record AMD app without system sounds, it seems to work. I can record. (I start the recording in game and ends it in game).

The funny thing with the sound is that it seems to be fine when I watch the original file and in the movie editing program I use. But when I send it to Youtube or make a new file, the sound beginns to skip (like in the link above).

I tried to record two sessions BF4 witout system sounds and the MP4 APP files seems to work.

I did turn on system sound again, and while Action seems to record in game when I check the file afterwards I have only recorded 36 seconds. Sound Driver problems?

The AVI works fine as it seems. The AVI-file is pretty darn big though.

Update: I updated my sound drivers and it made no differende. AMD app recording still stops within a minute (but durig game it says it records).

I guess it may be related to your AMD card. Have you tried updating your drivers to latest available?

Yes. I did it yesterday: Catalyst 14.4. Tried to use mp4 app and while the HUD gladly told me it recorded the whole 18 minutes of the multiplayermatch, the file afterward only contained 33 seconds of gameplay.

I did notice, however, that when I reinstalled Action!, I did it from an older version I dowloaded to try the software. Then the mp4 app seems to work better. 1.17.? i believe it is.

I'm having the same issue. Latest driver, latest version of Action. I just got a new R9 290 and had used action with my old card recording avi files with no issue. Now using the AMD APP option it just records around a minutes and skips.

Please check if changing Action! priority to High in task mangaer helps.

I tried to set Action priority to high (there's three Action related processes, should I set all three on high?). In one session the other day I could record several short games in a row and it seemed to work. Yesterday, though, the HUD said it recorded the whole game, but it was only 33 seconds on gameplay saved.

I did a new test just now. I tried to play Portal and manage to record two games at around 6 minutes at 720p. I did crank the Action up to high in task manager (all three processes). I used the mp4 App

When I did raise the video format to 1080p, the game stopped record after approximately 2 minutes (but, as always, according to the HUD I did record the whole time).

Updated: Played a 25 minut BF4 Multiplayer game on 720P and the whole game was recorded. I did not quit Action between the games.
