Save Audio Streams Seperate

Sun May 04, 2014 6:09 am

Hello,

I purchased action! to doing gameplay recordings using the split audio features and its a major pain in the ass that adobe premier does not support the 2nd audio channel, I've looked around the forums and found that you guys claim that theres nothing you can do to fix this despite other software and recorders being able to do it. I know that you guys are 'following the video specifications and that adobe are not but realistically if your video files don't work in professional grade video editing software then you need to break spec and implement whatever dodgy hack they use so that we can edit our videos properly without going through 4+ extra lengthy steps.

As a solution to this problem i am currently going through the lengthy process with 30+ gig videos using VirtualDub to extract out the audio streams 1 by 1... so that they can be imported to adobe premier / after effects separate to the video

Can you develop an option that saves the audio streams separate to the video for simpler multi audio video editing.

Kind Regards,
Ryan/Rm2kdev a paying Action! user.

This was discussed before this feature was added. Our developers decided to create second audio track inside the media file due to possible synchronizing issues and to avoid creating additional files.

The ability is almost in the software already...

You can press F9 for video recording AND press F10 at the same time to start a sound recording...
What if a toggle was added into the sound recording tab to record the Microphone only?

That way you can select 2 separate HDDs for the file for increased performance, your original video file will have the system sounds (and a mic track if you are using AVI and have that option selected) but you will also have a separate mic track/file for those people recording in MP4 and who like the added control of having voice separate from the system sounds.

I understand the issues involved with the audio being desynced but I would rather manually sync up my voice audio in post that have to extract the track from the video file before I can even work with it. Especially when working with files that are hours long.

Just some food for thought.
