Action! not responding after recording is stopped

Hello. I was researching for capture software after a recording session with Fraps that yielded 120GB of footage. I found out about Action! and its Intel Quick Sync feature and decided to download the free trial. I've tried several times now but everytime after I hit F9 to stop recording, I go to check the Action window in an attempt to playback the footage but the program has become non-responsive. I've tried letting the program sit for a while, but it eventually asks me whether I want to end the process anyway.
Now, I searched up on google for this issue but the fix is not applicable to me. First of all, yes, AVI works fine. But if I wanted that, I'd just go back to Fraps. Moving on, I read a forum post on here suggesting a downgrade of the Intel HD drivers however I am unable to do so. I own an ASUS laptop that is very picky about the Intel HD drivers it will install and so I am stuck with this version : 10.18.10.3308.
I realize that this seems like a lost cause but if anyone could help me sort this out, it'd be great!
