Importing video from Action! crashes Vegas

Hi,

I can record gameplay (output as avi, 1080p, 2 audio streams as one has mic) and so on, but whenever I try to import the resulting .avi file to Vegas it will crash every single time I double click to open the file without doing anything. The open dialogue box stays open, and eventually just hangs up with 'Not Responding'. What is causing this?

Using Vegas Pro 13 with Windows 8.1.

The AVI format from Action! uses its own specific codec, which isn't compatible with much. You can play on you computer, but don't try to export to YouTube before converting it first (to MP4 per example). I don't know Sony Vegas per say, but I suspect it can load MP4s no problem, so either record whatever you have to record using the MP4 format from Action!, or convert your AVIs into MP4 before loading into Vegas.

Could you upload your AVI file somewhere? I will check them in my Vegas. My AVI videos are easily imported into SV.

(oh my, sorry if I said it wouldn't load into Sony Vegas, I know plenty of the programs can't load it)
