Sound issues ::: Please help!

I've been trying to get action working for the longest time and I can't seem to get the sound right. I seem to have gotten the noise form the computer to work fine, but now the mic wont record properly. I use a SkullCandy Plyr2 gaming headset and I have the software set to use the microphone on it. Problem is, Whenever I record, it doesnt show up. I've tried messing with the settings and i've gotten many different results, but none of them were right.

- No mic sound
- Squeaky sped-up voice
- Super low mic volume (even if its set to 100)

I would really like to start using action to record games and other things, but this has been a problem since day 1...

Please help!

Yes I do. If it makes any difference, I use a SkullCandy Plyr2 headset and an Alienware 14 laptop.
