(Solved) Action! Audio Issues

Thu Jun 19, 2014 1:27 pm

Now first I'd like to begin by saying thank you to Radi for my previous post. You helped me out quickly and I'd like to shout out in-case it's you again. You're really awesome man!

Next we move on to the real reason behind this post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsOg5c5iW0k

Now during that recording I was talking and explaining what I was trying to convey, after all a recording serves to solve and illuminate the problems much more than some long winded explanation. If you're like me you'll hear one of two things. 1.) Absolute silence when I'm speaking. 2.) Massive and distinct shuttering and/or crackling, it also has a constant buzzing as if from too much gain on the mic and that constant sound. Either way they're a problem I think stem from me changing my config files. When I first recorded it was fine, then I was trying to fine tune the mic and recording software to work better (louder) and it did this. Hopefully you guys will have the answer, until then I cannot record. Please any response would be appreciate, thank you!

Edit: Just found the registry directory that houses the config files and even after completely starting fresh it still gives me that those same loud pops and shuttering as well as buzzing.

Graphics Card: GTX 550 Ti
Mic: Blue Yeti
Headphones: Audio-Technica ATH-M50
Motherboard: P67A-C45

Edit 2: Just found that the problem is with the Built-In Mic with my Blue Yeti. I'm not sure what type of conflicts it may have with the software, but at this rate I may find out before I get a response. It only happens when I'm recording though, so I'm not sure.

NOTE: PROBLEM SOLVED, TO THOSE OF YOU READING THIS WHO MAY HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, THIS IS ACTUALLY A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE BLUE YETI, AFTER TALKING TO THEIR HELPLINE I SPOKE WITH A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. HER FINDINGS AFTER TESTING "LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF MICS A WEEK" IS THAT THIS DOES IN-FACT OCCUR OCCASIONALLY WHEN SHIPPED. IT'S NOT ACTION!, IT'S YOUR IN-LINE AUDIO AND YOU CAN HAVE THE BLUE YETI REPLACED WITH THEIR 2 YEAR WARRANTY BECAUSE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE.
