Downscaling Performance.

Tue Jul 22, 2014 12:57 am

So I am trying to record some Superslomotion footage with 120fps, where the resolution doesnt matter all that much, cause lets face it a youtube video still looks worse than a 720p video on your pc, even with the bitrate that their 4k setting provides.

now i am wondering, if downscaling a 1080p video to 720p with mirrilis action will increase or decrease the actual framerate of the recording.

since you might think performance should increase if you have a smaller file to write, but then again action! also has to encode it to that resolution first.

(note: my pc is easily capable of running that game at 120fps 1080p (maybe not on its max settings but yeah).

also writing speed or filesize are not a issue at all. my harddrive should easily be capable of writing a 1080p video from mirrilis in 120fps

Downscaling shouldn't affect your performance in theory. Have you tried that already?
