If you record your video at 1080p video size and upload to youtube is it 1080p only? In youtube the videos has options for video size like 1080p 480p 4240p, 720p. I was wondering if I should record in 240 and let the people change quality in youtube. I only upload one video so far to youtube in Original and you are able to change video size for the video. I have never tried on a video with a set video size. I recorded an avi 30fps for thirty minutes and the video size original. The video size was huge it was 33gb. My video was also stuttering and I get random fps drop. However when I record it in 240p it looks so blurry compared to the original size which looks like 1080p. However 240p has less but still some but smaller stuttering and the video size for twenty minute is 3gb. I was wondering is it a good idea to upload 240p video which will upload faster because of the size and less lag and let the people change the quality? I am not sure if it actually allows you to change video size in youtube for the video, In some video, I was not allowed to change quality like their is one option. I don't want people to watch my video in 240p, I want them to watch in HD. I am also wondering when I record it in 1080p and upload to youtube, is it 1080p? Because the video I uploaded was in original and can change to 1080p to 144p.

Youtube has no control over the quality of ur videos other than processing, and no, the processing does NOT make ur videos any clearer than what they are in the first place. The processing is to make so the video can be displayed at the highest quality possible.

If u upload a 480p video, it will ONLY have 480p res. quality as maximum with the option for 360p or 240p, sometimes 144p, NEVER any more. U HAVE TO record at AT LEAST 720p if u want ur videos to be HD. The higher ur res. size is recorded originally, the better quality ur uploads will have.

Oh, and recording 240p in high quality does NOT make it much clearer, if at all.

And higher quality videos taking longer to upload is the nature of the technology. The server has a large number of pixels to work with.

So if I upload a video in 240p, it can't go higher, youtube process your video to the highest quality which is 240. So if you decided to change quality it can only be less than 240p or 240p. I have another question what is the difference between video size original and video size 1080p? When I upload a video in original I get 1080p and less which is the same as 1080p according to you, I think.

Yes. And as i said earlier, in order to have HD videos, u need to record at 720p or higher. And on ur last sentence, i assume u meant 240p or 144p instead another 240p.

I have another question what is the difference between video size original and video size 1080p? When I upload a video in original I get 1080p and less which is the same as 1080p according to you, I think.

Original size records the res. u currently play on. For example, if u play a game at 1680x1050, the recorded video will be that same res. --> 1680x1050. If u play at 1600x900 and record it, Action will put out the video in 1600x900. If u play at 600x800, Action will record to 600x800 and so on.

If u decide to record a game with 1080p, the recorded video will be 1920x1080 IF u play on that same res.. However, if u record to 1080p with a res. of, let's say 1680x1050, Action will scale the video from 1680x1050 to ####x1080p (replace the "#" with the width res. Action thinks to fit with the 1080). This will happen to every res. lower than 1920x1080.
So basically, UNLESS u play at 1920x1080p and record it with "1080" option, Action will scale it to whatever width res. it sees okay with the height res. of 1080. This may cause black borders with some resolutions.

I hope i didn't sound too confusing.

Oh and btw, that 600x800 resolution i mentioned, even though it says "800", it's NOT HD. The minimum resolution for HD is 1280x720.
