Webcam not showing in preview window or showing when Irecord

Hi there my webcam isnt recording when i record videos although my webcam light comes and and everything but it doesnt show in my recording ive tried everything from activating record mouse curser to changing the file format between AVI and MP4 the webcam of me doesnt even show up in the display format window when i try to view it ive tried changing the framerate the size but nothing with the webcam but besides that its perfectly fine. can someone please help me.
