I have tried everything to fix Action, I give up.

Ok. I literally have tried everything in the book to fix Action!, and nothing, ever, works.

Here is the problem: Action! crashes when I start it up. I click it, and it shows the start up splash screen. Then, nothing. Absolutely nothing! I have tried installing it through Steam as well, same issue. It does however, leave 2 processes running that I have to close manually, the Action x64 and Action x86 processes.

Here is what I have tried: I have tried the following:

Uninstall and Reinstall - Didn't work.
Uninstall, Restart Computer, Reinstall - Didn't work.
Uninstall, Open regedit, remove the Action! Catalog, Restart Computer, Reinstall - Didn't work
Uninstall, Open regedit, remove the Action! Catalog, Reinstall, Restart Computer - Didn't work
Tried all of the above with the Steam version of Action! - Didn't work.
Tried opening Action! multiple times until it would work - Didn't work.
Disabled my anti-virus - Didn't work.
Disabled my anti-virus and then did every method you see above - Didn't work.

This has been way too much trouble than it has been worth to me. I am at the point where I am going to just re-install Windows so I don't have to put up with this, but I really really don't want to do that. Please if anyone knows anything else, tell me please.

Thank you.

I had exactly the same problem as you. I tried everything I could think of to fix it with out any luck (in my case Action would eventually load but it could take 10+ attempts and I would have to close the processes that were left open in between each attempt. Very annoying).

Then one day I switched out my CPU cooler for a new one. After that Action started working just fine.

I run a two monitor setup and the monitor I had set as my 'Main' monitor was identified as monitor number 2, however after taking the computer apart, putting the new cooler in and restarting my Main monitor switched to Identity number 1.

That the only thing that changed and ever since then Action has been loading without a problem.

No idea if its related but if you are running two monitors you might want to try disconnecting one (shutdown, disconnect it, and reboot) and see if action loads (I know its a long shot but it cant hurt to try).

Wow...I never thought of that, well sort of. I do run a dual monitor setup technically. That being I have an HDMI cable connected to my PC that runs to a 32 inch LCD TV, and is usually turned off unless I'm playing games on Steam Big Picture or watching movies. I have disconnected and trying it while my PC is on but I didn't restart my PC. I will try turning my PC off, disconnect it and restart my PC and see how that works. If it doesn't work I'll let you know. Thanks!

Well, I can't seem to get my primary monitor to identify as monitor number 1 which is weird. So far, it hasn't worked, but I think it's something to do with the monitor numbers.

I got the same problem... Yesterday I got Action! to work after installing AMD Catalyst, but over the night while the pc was off I dunno what but something made Action! to fail once agian :/ When I try to start the program it load fine and shows up the program screen for 1-2 sec before closing down.
