Hi,
i've been using mirillis action! for a while. However sometimes when I record say, a 10 minute video, it comes out as a 1 minute 30 second video.

Is it an MP4 or AVI video?

MP4 (AMD APP) has had this bug ever since it was released (Happened to me with a single R9 290, two R9 290s in Crossfire and now its happening with my new R9295x).

I have found its mostly related to a sleeping HDD (internal or external). If you do a quick 10 second recording then stop it, and then record again it will usually work fine the second time (but not always).

I have also had the same thing happen when an 'overlay' (such as steam) pops up.

I recorded a 2 hour video a little while ago and the first hour or so came out fine, but shortly into the second hour of recorded a friend came online in Steam and I got the little toast popup. right at that moment the recording bugged out and somehow the last hour got squished down to about 3 mins of footage.

I'm really hoping these issues can be fixed in the next release because OBS and even the new Raptr GVR don't suffer from these problems (and both are free). Unfortunately OBS is for streaming and lacks native AMD APP support and GVR uses a variable frame rate making its output incompatible with Adobe Premiere so neither are a great solution at the moment.

Thanks for the information. I record with 720p MP4
It won't have been the steam overlay as I was recording minecraft 1.8.
For some reason though it's only when I record a certain map (Diversity 2) that this happens. :(

Its a very frustrating bug, that's for sure.
I have lost countless recordings because of it (Some very important ones as well).

I used to recommend Action as the go-to software for recording, but ever since this bug popped up I can no longer make that recommendation.

Upcoming update contains improvements for MP4 recording which may fix some of the issue related to this format.

Don't hold your breath, others like myself have been waiting for critical bug fixes for months.

I hear you, I really like this program, but I cannot depend on it to successfully record anything lately. Even AVI recording seems to be giving me trouble. I have switched back to shadowplay for now. But 50 bucks I hope is not down the drain.

Here's to hoping we see that patch soon Mirillis, get it working and I owe you a beer.
