Issue with Action! and Arma2/DayZ

Hello,

I am having an issue with Action! I have read through the forums and tried a few things to try and rectify the issue myself.

First of all, as it mentions on the forums here are my system specs:

OS: Windows 8
Video Card: GTX 760
Memory: 16 GB
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080,
Video Editor: Power Director 12
Game Problem: Arma2/DayZ mod
Video Type: AVI
(two monitor setup)
Latest version of Action!

The issue I am experiencing is Action! refuses to display the HUD or record during gameplay. - Only in Arma2/DayZ Mod. (other games still allow Action! to function as they should)
The issue has appeared over night. One day I was recording gameplay fine, after a PC restart Action! refuses to work.

I have tried the following things to rectify:

Reinstall of Action!
Update GPU drivers
Restart PC
Change desktop resolution/main monitor etc

none of these seem to have an effect.
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Leemo

I have the exact same problem. I can record everything but ARMA 2 and DayZ, hope someone has a fix for this!

I think is a problem about the code of the game. Nothing you can do about...

Same problem. It seems to be the BattleEye update that has made Action not work with Arma2/DayZ

Is there a fix coming from Mirillis?
Bandicam seems to still work as I tried that thinking my DX install was shot.

This issue is currently investigated.

Do you games use steam or non-steam version?

So it seems that this issue is related to Steam version.

The Steam version of Action! or DayZ? I'm using the regular version of Action! but, If it's DayZ at this point I'm guessing everyone will be using the Steam version. Since Arma2/DayZ was moved from Gamespy it pretty much relies on Steam to run. However, I have been using it with the Steam version since the move over without any issues.
I have a feeling it might be something to do with one of the newer battleeye updates. Like I said in the original post, Action! worked fine for a very long time, then just "died" over night.

I have talked with support through email, and uninstalling Action! deleting the registry entry and reinstalling has had no effect.

I have also contacted Battle eye directly to see if they are aware of the issue and have any plans to fix it.

As a temporary work around, anyone still wishing to record DayZ using Action! Launch the game in windowed mode, and use the "Active desktop region" mode to select the game area. It works fine! :) It's a little bit extra work, but it should keep people recording in the meantime!

A BIS (Bohemia Interactive Studios) employee responded to my thread about the issue on the /r/arma subreddit, and he confirmed that this is an issue that's entirely Battleeye related.

No overlay what so ever works for it, and the team needs help to find the issue.

Link to thread: http://np.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/2k ... d_overlay/

To Action! devs: This isn't Action!'s fault, it's Bohemia that did some errors with the code for the latest Battleeye (anti cheat system) update and it's refusing every overlay (even Steam) to show up.

I have at least two programs that works fine... So "No overlay what so ever works for it" is not true.
