Buffer / Loop Buffer

Hi there,

I've been in the market for some game recording software and I've been trying out a few. Playclaw, Fraps, Action and a few others. Out of all of them, Action is by far my favourite but you have one feature that is lacking that is stopping me from making the purchase. Buffer looping (Fraps) / Pre-recording (Playclaw 5) allows video to be buffered ahead of time and when you want to commit the last 30 second to disk, then you simply push a button and voila.. it is done.

I've read your forums and it seems that the feature was set to go in about 10 months ago or so (approximate) but I have not seen anything about it since and I do not see anything related to it in your software.

Do you have any updates on this feature as to when it might be implemented or maybe I just missed it?

Being able to change the hotkey to start/stop the recoding would be a nice feature as well.

Thanks in advance,
-ZH

PS. Great product. I like it a lot.

I don't remember if i also suggested this feature in the past, but in my opinion it's a must-have for Action. Action is the most stable and balanced recording soft i've used compared to other ones and pre-recording/loop buffer definitely would be a HUGE plus.

This feature is currently on the wish-list. However we have made a prototype of this kind of functionality, but we were not satisfied with the performance results so this feature has been moved to second plan.

Damn... hopefully it's not anything disasterous.

I'm also interested in this.

How was this implemented? Did it record the buffer to the HDD or did it use RAM? OBS has a feature that lets you use RAM to store the video buffer and gives you a size estimate based on your bitrate and length. Something like that would be awesome for Action.
