Hi.
I´ve only found one post on this subject whilst searching the forums and it sort of died in 2009 without a solution so here we go again :

I try to use my Audiobox USB external sound card to do my recordings in Mirillis Action, and I do get sound when recording the mic, but it is not recorded as a separate audio channel. Yes, I have checked the "multi-channel recording" where possible, and checked the "record microphone into separate audio track". As I try to extract the audio from the video file in Cyberlink Power director 12, I only get one channel and that is the system sound and mic recording muxed into one channel. When doing the same thing from a recording done in Dxtory I get two channels, so Power director 12 is not the problem. Some say that, as the line in is not considered a microphone by Action, it causes the problem, so please, what do I do?

Well, well.
Since it took some time to get this post approved, I´ve already solved a part of the mystery on my own. I´ve found a nifty little program called Veedub64 to separate and extract the 2nd audio track from the video file, namely the mic.
If someone has a similar problem and equipment I can upload a video covering that.
However I do wonder still:
Are the two sound files muxed into the raw Action! video footage, of the same format?

Record microphone into separated audio track creates an additional audio stream in your AVI file (the same format). While playing back in Action! player you can switch your active audio track with A. Most of video editors support video files with more than one audio track. Few of them sadly does not (Premiere PRO for example). I, for my own purposes, use VirtualDub to extract my second track out of the file.
