1.20 Higher bitrates needed

Thu Nov 13, 2014 10:45 pm

Hello there :D

1.20 works flawless with NVENC and 60fps but we really need much higher bitrates. Right now its at 25mbit but like 100mbit would be really nice because i edit them afterwards and upload them myself on youtube. This way i could conserve much more quality!! :D

In shadowplay nvenc support up to 50mbit.
but we really need much higher bitrates
So I agree with you.

If you use OBS you can use any bitrate you want. Need something like that. I would use it if i hadn't an issue with stuttering on the recorded material.

Current bit-rate has been optimized to get best possible performance with NVENC but we do not exclude option to add higher bitrates in future.

The 1.20.1 made the NVENC quality a little better :) i think ...

Yes, few improvements were made for NVENC encoding.

Do you have any idea why the fps in Minecraft get tanked so badly? Other games only suffer from minor performance impacts like 1-2 fps on NVENC but Minecraft the least demanding game graphics wise gets really worse. Like from 120fps down to sub 60fps.

Is it because of opengl?

I noticed it too. I made a topic asking, and i know you're always trying to make improvements - but for us with Maxwell GPUs - are you planning to add support for higher resolutions too since 970/980 supports up to 2160p60 via NVENC?

Thanks.

I cannot guarantee anything at this point, but we are always open for new solutions.
