Cannot Stop recording using quicksync

Tue Nov 18, 2014 2:01 am

when i tried to record directx 11 games, no with call of duty advanced warfare, it is only with avi or mp4, but when i use quick sync, i can start recording but i cannot stop recording. for any gameplay recorded longer than 10 mins, it cannot be stop, the game doesn't crash, but the HUD just cannot turn back blue, instead the time display freezes at the stopping time result the video file cannot be closed properly, end up with a broken video.

anyone know what might have the cause of it? my pc spec and graphic card is very good. and all my intel driver and display driver also are the latest

It also happens to me, whenever you can't stop recording Action has already crashed, and you end up with a broken video...
I have to restart the recording before 5 minute mark in order to prevent it from crashing if i'm using quick sync 1080p30, and if I'm using quick sync 1080p60 then I can safely record up to 2 minutes, any longer and there is a good chance it will crash.

I really think they should focus on stability improvements for now, instead of adding in new features.

Which Action! version do you use? Could you upload a DxDiag report of your computers?

My post reffered to the 1.20 version, but with 1.19.2 I've had the same crashes (though I didn't try 60fps on that version).
I think when I used 1.17.3, quick sync worked without pretty much any crashing, but I've had audio desync if I record longer then 5 minutes, so i had to restart the recording anyway.

I'm using the latest drivers for intel gpu, is that maybe the problem? Do you know what driver Action! supports best when using quick sync? Or it doesn't have any impact at all?

Anyway, attached dxdiag.

EDIT: Don't see the attached file, so I uploaded here as well, just in case.

EDIT2: Actually it was 1.16.3, just tried it with that version, and it's completely stable. So I guess it's not due to me updating drivers. Something must've gone wrong in the development after that version.
