Editing softwares do not detect MP4 tracks

Sun Feb 08, 2015 1:28 pm

Hello, I have been having some problems with the Mirillis Action demo.
Whenever I record a gameplay in MP4 (wether it uses nvidia's codec or not) the editing softwares do not detect the whole tracks or part of them.

Vegas Pro 13:

The first 2 tracks are audio only from an MP4 file whilst the 3 below are from an AVI file. Vegas doesn't detect video tracks in MP4 from Action!.

Premiere Pro CC 2014:

The file shown in the bottom left corner is the one in AVI but when I try to imort an MP4 file, premiere pops this error: "Generic error noticed but the importing programme.

It is definately a codec error so if you could provide me with the solution, it would be very appreciated. MP4 files are way smaller and smoother so I really want to record in that format.

OS: Windows 10
Video Card: Nvidia GTX 970
Memory: 12 GB
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Video Editor: Vegas 13 Adobe CC
Game Problem: Tested in Sims 4, Hearthstone and LoL
Video Type: MP4

I use VideoReDo TVSuite to edit/cut my every video files, even the MP4 captured with Action!, maybe you should try that one.

Well that software doesn't seem very trustful, I would rather use Sony Vegas or Premiere Pro but thanks for the information. I will try to open the video with that software and try to detect the necesary codec. :)

Not trustful?? I bought this software 4 years ago, and for the longest while was the only program in the industry that could cut h.264 to an exact frame (other software had to cut at an i-frame). You can try the trial version by the way... Once loaded and cut, you can save your file in plenty of format too, with ou without reencoding.

It's not as fancy as Vegas Pro (not even near), but as I'm saying you can load your capture files into it and resave in plenty of other formats. I wouldn't pay that software just for the "convertion" properties, but it does perfectly what you need to, at first glance.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, that video solved my problem. I was really thinking it was a Mirillis codec problem so i never searched for an MP4 specific solution.

I apologise if i was rude when I first replied you. Either way, now that i've got Vegas working I don't need your solution. Thanks anyways.

To the Mirillis Mod, I would sugest putting this as an official solution as mp4 with Vegas is pretty much useless without this.
