Error 104 in Version 1.22

Hey,
long time ago I tested Action and then moved to another app since it didn't work for me.
2 Weeks ago I wanted to record a Tutorial and thought about trying Action again because
its great performance as I saw on a friends PC and maybe buying it, if it works now.

I downloaded v1.21 and it worked great but now I updated to v1.22 and on every start I get
"Critical Error 104 - Failed to initialize product. Please try reinstalling."
and after that Action crashes.

When I reinstall v1.21 it works like a charm and when I again update to v1.22, the error is back so
it is a problem with the new version, not with my PC I think.

My System is Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit with all updates and btw. the friend of mine gets the same
error since the update on the same OS and he bought it!

Thanks for any help - I really want to buy Action when it finally works!

edit:
I read about a modified hosts file and blocking firewall which causes the problem.
I also checked that but there is nothing. No firewall blocks action and my hosts file
is as it comes with the windows installation. The only thing is - I use Action on
a PC without internet connection (no wlan card atm and I'm not allowed to drill a hole through the wall
to go online with LAN cable).

So is it correct that I'm forced to have an active internet connection just to use a desktop recording software
(since version 1.22)? If so, I will look out for a better solution even if the functionality of the new one isn't better.
As long as I can use it offline - all is good.
