Action Takes Seconds before it actually starts recording

Problem: Every time I hit the hotkey to start recording, it takes multiple seconds before it ACTUALLY starts to record! This happens no matter what amount of fps I record at.

Video Card: Intel core i5
Memory: 8 GB
Monitor Resolution: 1360x768
Video Editor: Vegas 12 and 13 (mostly 13)
Game Problem: Minecraft, OSU
Video Type: AVI
