Won't record emulators?? [FIXED]

I've been using Action! for a long while now and I've been very pleased with the quality of the video for all games and such that I've recorded. I've recommended the product to many friends and have gotten some of my die-hard Fraps fans to buy it. But now I have a small issue that's a bit puzzling to me. A friend and I were hoping to record a series together where we play a modded version of an old Pokemon game but Action! doesn't seem to want to record the emulator. We are using VisualBoyAdvance for the emulation and it doesn't work on either of our computers. It records fine on other games though. I know I can just set it to desktop mode and record like that but then it's got my Windows hot bar thing at the bottom and I don't want to lose any video quality at all by cropping it. It seems that emulators aren't compatible with many recording softwares but things like Fraps have fixes. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Fixed the issue, all I did was I had to close the Emulator and Action! and then open Action! then the Emulator and set it's Render Method to Direct3D and then load the game

I decided to try it for myself even though i'm not a fan of emulators and i lost interest in Pokémon many years ago, and i can confirm that it didn't detect it right away. However i found a possible solution.

If u're using VBA 1.8.0 beta3 or a similar version, go to Options --> Video --> Render Method --> choose Direct3D. It should recognize it that way.

I'm not sure what version it is because my buddy sent it to me but I tried doing that after seeing it in a tutorial for Fraps. It didn't work sadly :( I also tried to change the frame skip number (again from the Fraps tutorial) but again to no prevail.
