Action always switches my sources when I move hardware aroun

This is making me furious.
So I have Action set to record my microphone AND audio from my FocusRite Scarlett Solo. All good, right?
Well, I got a new monitor. So I set up my new monitor, record a game and... there's no audio. What? Oh, I check my Action settings and... it changed my audio source to the monitor's output. Not my FocusRite. You know, that thing that I specifically set it to.
This has happened more times than I can count where the source that I manually set has been reset because of a hardware change. When I update the program the audio source resets. I lost a recording because of that.
The fact that I need to continually check to make sure Action keeps the settings that I already set it to is infuriating. It's like I'm dealing with a fickle child that only does what I want it to when I keep leaning over and poking it in the shoulder to make sure it didn't forget.
