Screen recording - white very off-white

I recorded a blank photoshop image, the white background is 255,255,255.
When I record it with the highest quality settings (1080p, 60fps, high 100%), the recorded footage is actually 239,239,239 - very off white, possibly grey.

How can I correct this?

What input range do you use? 0-255 or 16-235? You can find this in Video Recording settings tab.

I used 0-255. I already searched that before posting, and the response was it didn't affect the video quality, it had something to do with gaming.

EDIT: I tried both 0-255 & 16-255, same results.

I fixed the issue, it was not caused by Action!
I found that when I played the recorded video back in Action or Windows Media Player, the white was pure white, whereas when I play it back in VLC Player (my default player) or Quicktime, the white is off-white.

I fixed the issue in VLC Player, you need to turn off the "use hardware YUV-RGB conversions" which is on by default.

I cannot fix the problem with Quicktime though.

I don't think QuickTime offers this kind of functionality. It's Apple way of saying "we know better".
