Action wont start

Since 1 week action completely refuses to start.

I use it on Windows 10 since about 3 Months without any major issues.
Suddenly after I returned from my holidays, I tried to record a game, but Action just shows the Splash Sceen for a second and then just does nothing anymore.

When I start Task Manager I see 3 processes running (see action_1.png)


I can wait for a day and the GUI won't come up.

Before we start with the dxdiag requests: I searched google for solutions already and never was a dxdiag leading to something.

Following approaches I tried meanwhile:

1. Uninstalling Action, cleaning registry, reboor, re-install .... no success
2. shutting down windows firewall ... no success
3. running in Windows 7 compatibility mode ... no success
4. starting action over direct x64 executable (not desktop shortcut) ... no success
5. unplugged 2nd and 3rd Display ... no success


I know support and community will focus on the "Windows 10 is not yet releaset so its not supported" statements, but thats nonsense. Action works fine with Windows 10 and it worked fine with the current build as well.

I see this issue more often when I google for it and its also happening at least for Windows 8 (8.1) as well. And Windows 10 is practically the same as Windows 8. So I hope there will be a solution as I have bought this software and want a decent support therefore ;P

Check if your screen refresh rate is not set to 30Hz.

I managed to solve the issue, as I found in Event Viewer that the action process got an DX9 error when trying to start.

The solution was to re-install my actual graphics driver!
