Cant Record Desktop?? HELP!

hello for some reason i cant record my desktop but i can record games?? its odd asi used to be able to reocrd desktop and now it doesnt work?? also this is the steam version

Video Card: GTX 970
Memory: 8GB
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 (i have 2 screens)
Video Type: Both
