Constant Stopping & Starting

OS: Windows 7 64bit
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Game Problem: Any game I've tried it with, be them recent, old, emulators, skype, etc.
Video Type: MP4

I have a strange problem with Action! that I only began experiencing recently, but does unfortunately render it basically unusable.

At first, Action! worked brilliantly, and consistently provided me with perfect 1080p 60fps video grabs of my games without any complaint at all. But recently (a few months ago) I noticed a problem with the recordings I took: The video would regularly pause at random intervals (for anywhere from 1 second to up to ten seconds) before resuming as normal. The video quality would otherwise be perfect (the sound was always unaffected and would continue over the still image) but the random pauses in the video makes for an unpleasant viewing experience.

The video below was captured just recently from Killing Floor 2 and exemplifies the problem. (I was moving the mouse cursor continually during recording, not that you'd know that by watching the video).

Again this isn't just a problem with Killing Floor 2 and affects every piece of software I've tried it with.

I've tried dropping the video quality and messing with settings and filetypes but I only ever get the same result or worse. I don't know what suddenly caused the performance of Action! to deteriorate in this way but as I'm sure you can imagine it has rendered the software useless.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
