worked, but not anymore?

I have a licensed, latest version of Action! 1.25.3 and it was working fine. I recorded a few videos and it was working perfectly. But now it just starts for 1 second and then it crashes. I don't get an "error" notification either.
I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but that didn't work. I tried changing compatibility to windows 7 (my OS) and that didn't work. I went into regedit and deleted the Action! folder, rebooted, still didn't work.
I followed the steps to this post : http://forum.mirillis.com/viewtopic.php ... ing+1.25.3 and it still does the same thing, the 1 sec start, then crash. I am at my wits end trying to figure it out! I've spent hours trying to find an answer, but nothing has worked so far.
A solution would be greatly appreciated! I really loved this software so I don't want it to go to waste...
My computer specs (if this helps anything)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 (black edition)
GPU: AMD radeon HD 6900
RAM: 12 gb
