Having a problem recording to desktop with windows 8.1

Hi there. Im new to action. I jus bought it. My record to desktop or desktop region wont work. It will just blink a few times then log me out. heres my info

OS: Windows 8.1
Video Card: XFX R9 280x Black Edition
Memory:16 GB
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Video Editor: I don't have one
Game Problem: Desktop blinks a few times in record to desktop then signs me out of windows
Video Type: AVI

Ive tried everything. Using a areo lite theme, watching tons of videos that didn have my problem.
If anyone can help id be appreciative.
