I didnt read all the entrys here but maybe it helps , i had also when closing a recording crashes , usally when i took a record in game with 720p more then 30 til 40 minutes , it was not possible to record longer then that , a real pain in the neck , for me the solution was :

Add to Avast! Virus scanner an exeption in "File/Archiv" protection AND also in "Behavor or Heuteretic Protection" , because Avast! is scanning EVERY "newly generated Files" SO sometimes it takes so long that Action! was crashing because of that ! ... the exeption lines made it work no matter how many time i am recording now , like 1h and 40 minutes game play NO PROBLEM anymore! So is there Avast! in use THIS can be the problem of the crashes when no exeption line a inserted , in the list has to be excluden the Action! folder and then it should work , for me it was

From paste few months I have this problem with my Action! After every recording it crashes and restarts. Sometime it happens also few seconds after starting a record.

My settings doesn't matter. It crashes when i use avi, mp4, different folders on different drives (ssd, hdd). It happens when i record one soundtrack or 3 of them. Also doesn't matter if i have any antivirus tool running in background.

Do you have any solutions for this problem?

About two years ago I purchased this software, and had been using it to record 30+ minute videos for about a year following; as of the past 6 months this software has refused to work for me. Pretty much everything works well for me up until the recording reaches up to 5 seconds. The problem happens when I end the recording, and the entire software crashes and takes a whole 2 minutes to end the task.

Try two things:
- go to settings -> audio and disable "record sound" option
- disable antivirus software

This issue is fixed for me in 4.2.0.

I have following issue.
In recoring in mp4 action! freezes after stop record.
In recording in avi everything is ok, but audio track is empty (have no sound)
