Problem Description
Game/App Problem: Minecraft
Error Type: Game and Action Crash
Video Editor: Not applicable
Description: After thorough testing I believe I have found the issue reproducible. I believe this is a problem with NVIDIA’s Optimus technology although I cannot confirm that. For one thing, if I set the NVIDIA Control Panel to force everything to run through the GTX850M Action will refuse to start. I see the splash screen, but then it immediately closes and only registers a Windows error “ding” sound. Now onto the next problem and how I tried to circumvent the previous problem. I set the Control Panel to Auto-Select everything works as intended. However if I put it on Auto-Select and change default settings by forcing Minecraft to run through the GTX850M while Action runs through the HD 4600, Minecraft will crash on start-up. I have noticed that the FPS and Status Indicator in the game window states that Action thinks the game is running in DirectX 11 mode, which is obviously not true as Minecraft is an OpenGL game.
