Problem with recording in AVI

Hi, I have the following problem...

The game, I want to record, is running in 1280x960 (4:3) resolution (my monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050). I record in game mode. And then, if I choose MP4 as a video type, everything works fine with recording resolution:
- if I pick original, video file has 1280x960,
- if 1080p, video has 1440x1080,
- 720p - 960x720,
- 480p - 640x480 etc.

...BUT when I choose AVI as a video type, it doesn't matter what I set in recording resolution (1080p, 720p, 480p or others), I always receive video file in 1280x960. Why Action! records only in original resolution in this case and ignores my settings? Of course it's not a big problem to convert later this video to other resolution but I'm just curious.

Is it an OpenGL or DirectX application that you are trying to record?
