Problem Description
Game/App Problem: Any game
Error Type: Crashing when recording starts or ends, no error message
Description: Action crashes about 80% of the time when I start recording any games and 100% of the time when I end a recording that started fine. The HUD shows up and everything looks fine until I start the recording. It starts then after like 3 seconds it crashes and then starts itself up again.
I have tried:
-uninstalling and reinstalling
-uninstalling, updating my graphics drivers, reinstalling
-uninstalling, clearing the registry of all action files, reinstalling
-reverting to a restore point I made before installing action, then installing again
-trying to record with multi-channel audio recording both on and off
-trying to record with record microphone into separate audio track both on and off
-trying to record with video size set to original and 720p (current webcam does not go to 1080)
-trying to record with file format set to AVI, MP4, and MP4 (NVIDIA NVENC)
-trying to record with the above settings in every different configuration I can think of
The thing that gets me is that it doesn't ALWAYS crash. Once in a while if I get persistent, it will actually record. Then once I am almost at my 30 min mark, I end the recording and action crashes (recording does not get corrupted in these instances). I keep the same settings for my system and mic input as usual and it just works once in a while. Does not matter if I try recording in MP4 or AVI, the result is the same. While I am recording I use my headset for game audio and I use the built in mic on my webcam (Microsoft LifeCam 3000). When it actually records, the end product is really good. Game audio is fine and my voice is clear in the recording. Problem is just getting it to record reliably. The times it has worked I had multi-channel recording on and record microphone into separate track off.
Really hoping I can get this sorted out, I got the commercial license because I hear so many good things about this program, and I love the results when a recording actually works!
